Rich & Powerful Addicted To Social Media?

Many like Musk and Trump apparently are.

Craving the recognition and attention. The life of the rich and famous.

Craving privacy and solitude, until society catches up? The life of the cognitively consonant.

Overcoming addiction to honey might prove impossible. LOL

Would two teaspoons once every week, or three days be considered an addiction? Hope not, but probably so, in strict terms.

If there is honey, it's hard to skip a day or two without honey with milk and/or tea. Mostly tied to enjoyment and pleasure.

Sugar? Even bacteria and viruses can't eat it raw or in high concentrations. Same with honey.

Soap and shampoo? Mostly made of corrosive and poisonous chemicals. Will probably change a lot in the future. Some cosmetics and hygiene products are already making the change, in terms of marketing and some ingredients.

Re-entered stock market for the time being.

Good Sleep Increases Intelligence?

According to a BBC program Animal Einstein (Builder), the intelligence of orangutans was tested before and after they were given human bedding materials.

Orangutans normally build beds in trees using branches and leaves. Their intelligence was tested using images on a touchscreen.

They were then given sheets, pillows, blankets, and other materials. Their quality of sleep was measured through brain waves.

With the given materials, the orangutans were able to achieve a more restful sleep than before and they immediately showed improvements in their intelligence tests.

How does sleep improve intelligence?

Why is sleep needed? Probably many reasons, as eerily stated before.

The BBC program proposes that better sleep led to higher intelligence. Monkey, chimps, orangutans built hammocks or beds in trees and slept better. They learned to build better beds and hammocks, some with roofs to protect from rain. Got more intelligent.

Develop Society For A Change, Instead Of Corporations

The Korean government gives out research and development grants to universities and corporations for a huge number of things that are not yet developed in Korea, but are being developed in other countries.

Corporations also get tax breaks for investment and other things. The money is used to buy equipment, materials, pay salaries and such.

This is rarely mentioned and has never been emphasized in the Korean media.

Shouldn't salaried taxpayers be given the same amount in funding and incentives? So they can buy what they want and maybe educate, train, or otherwise develop themselves.

Just seems so unfair. Rich get richer, while employees pay taxes of which a portion is used to enrich corporations and the wealthy. The ones who know how to play the research grant and tax loophole game.

And the employees or salaried workers don't realize this is happening. If they do, they assume it is for development of technology. It probably has contributed to the competitiveness of Korean companies and exports.

Funding for research at universities and R&D centers is okay, but if the R&D center and its patents belong to rich corporations that makes billions in profit and price gouge consumers?

Slightly annoying. Less annoying than people who intentionally cut in front of the line, apparently. Running into those kinds of people less frequently than before. Probably due to COVID. Less crowds.

Anyways, if the Korean government can fund corporations and universities, then should it not fund poor people? It seems ENORMOUSLY unfair to give money to corporations but not to the poor.

Poor taxpayers need more relief, incentives for self education and training, and tax breaks from government. It would be good for the economy and since they are poor, the money would go for basics and should not be inflationary.

Korea's national pension system was introduced only a couple or so decades ago. Most of the elderly don't receive much of a pension, less than $500. So, former President Moon's administration quietly started many programs for the elderly.

One is a program for the elderly throughout all districts in Korea. Elderly with income under a certain level can apply to participate in a district cleaning project. If selected, they pick up trash along the road for a short while, five days a week and get paid, guessing around $300-$500 a month. It's really easy. Just basically to get them outside for an hour or two of exercise and an hour of standing around. Most of the cleaning is done by cleaning trucks early around dawn.

Some of the elderly can get jobs, but some cannot. The job program helps. I think the government's basic subsistence allowance for really poor people is $300 a month. I don't see how anyone can survive on $300 a month.

If the conservative party complained about the work program, they would lose their most loyal base - the elderly. So, the mostly conservative media has unusually refrained from attacking former President Moon on the work program.

Develop society for a change, instead of corporations. Good Political Slogan!

A party with a name to strike fear into all conservatives, Socialist Party or People's Party.

Curiously though, the Korean conservative party fraudulently calls itself the People Power Party, when it is more like a Corporate Power Party.

Why Is Sleep Needed?

Do jellyfish sleep? They don't have brains. Googled it. Yes, they do.

Theory is that during sleep, mammals review and process what happened while it was awake and physically recuperate. Can die due to sleep deprivation.

But what about cells, most do not sleep.

Probably many reasons for sleeping? Makes sense.

Good practice for dying in sleep? Just didn't wake up one day.

Collective consciousness and sleep? Maybe?

When Nations Bail Out Companies?

When nations bail out companies, the government or a government controlled entity acquires a stake or corporate bonds. They should give all tax paying citizens a share of the company instead.

That would be more equitable, in my opinion, since it is the citizens who pay taxes that fund the bail out.

Wonder if this will ever happen in the future? Long future, but...

Taxpayers would be more receptive to bailouts and some would be forced to open securities trading accounts, which securities firms should love. Would also serve to promote the stock market. If everyone is in, then the market can be artificially inflated to increase wealth?

All those Korean conglomerates that pledged to spend hundreds of billions of dollars and create more jobs just before district elections are now reducing the number of new employees for the year.

Subconscious Editing?

Or unconscious editing?

Often write posts, and sometimes in the next few days, corrections or other editing abruptly interrupt my flow of consciousness. After I write a post, I mostly forget about it.

The better subconscious me, or unconscious me? If it is my better unconscious me, then what is doing the thinking for me?

If it is the subconscious, try to make use of it? Have the subconscious do some of the work.

Why are most climate deniers extremely old and seem not to care because they are going to die soon and maybe subconsciously resent young people for living longer? Like Donald Trump, et al.

Korean Prez Gaslighting Public?

That's what it looks like.

According to Newport Institute (Gaslighting) - 'Gaslighting is a form of psychological manipulation in which the abuser attempts to sow self-doubt and confusion in their victim’s mind. Typically, gaslighters are seeking to gain power and control over the other person, by distorting reality and forcing them to question their own judgment and intuition.'

Politicians emulating Trump worldwide.

Business Insider: Trump is a 'master gaslighter,' politics expert says

Yoon is trying to prosecute former president Moon for not accepting a North Korean into South Korea and returning him to the north. The man had murdered a dozen or so people and fled.

Hankyoreh: Who’s behind ministries’ apologies over cases involving N. Korea?

“Not a tool for political conflict”: Unification Ministry labor union pushes back on leadership

Yoon's administration is arguing that the previous administration had no proof of the murder, so they had no right to send the guy back. There was an investigation and parliamentary hearing on this in 2019. Yoon's party had no objections or claims then. Why now? Is Yoon angry about his low ratings, or diverting attention?

They can drag this on for years. There are various false allegations of crimes against many opposition party leaders that have persisted for years. It is the conservative party's main strategy and that party is made up of many former prosecutors like Yoon and almost all of his officials.

The prosecutors also framed a former prime minister. She served her sentence. No justice yet. They were also implicated in framing of ordinary Koreans and opposition as North Korean spies, several times, the last being as recent as a few years ago. And more....

And yet, the US is cozying up to Yoon? Hope not.

Good thing the liberal and progressive parties diluted the powers of the presidential and prosecutor's office. That's why Yoon and his acolytes are so pissed. LOL

Do Lemmings Really Commit Mass Suicide?

No, according to Britannica: Do Lemmings Really Commit Mass Suicide?

The article states -

"So why is the myth of mass lemming suicide so widely believed? For one, it provides an irresistible metaphor for human behavior. Someone who blindly follows a crowd—maybe even toward catastrophe—is called a lemming. Over the past century, the myth has been invoked to express modern anxieties about how individuality could be submerged and destroyed by mass phenomena, such as political movements or consumer culture."

Individuality destroyed by peer pressure, or mass phenomena.

Used to go on vacations, amusement parks, restaurants, etc. After decades of traffic jams, salty expensive food, and such, I gave up for the most part. LOL

Korea Cuts Taxes For The Rich

Prez Yoon's administration announced cuts on income tax, corporate tax, inheritance tax, property tax, and maybe some others, lost track.

At least, Korean media is showing figures that the wealthy and large conglomerates save the most from the cuts. If you add in Korean government aid for research and development 'projects' for companies and tax exemptions, some Korean corporations probably save another few percentage points in tax, at least. Save tons on property taxes.

Prediction, rent increases. All so predictable, now.

The government is stating that the wealthy and corporations will invest the savings into their business and create jobs. That's what Trump said, yes? And all previous conservative Korean government have falsely claimed in the past?

Time to observe the level of Korean cognitive dissonance?

Korean Media Trying To Portray Prez Yoon As Working Hard

Yoon asks land minister to prioritize housing stability

There are constant news reports on Yoon telling his ministers to do this and that. To rein in inflation. To do something according to the constitution and law.

What about his suspension for abuse of power when he was head prosecutor and his wife's falsified resumes? And countless other scandals. Big contradiction.  All Koreans know or are convinced that Yoon applies rule of law mainly on opponents. Doesn't seem to care about much else. Just stamping out opposition and creating a stir, while he is doing something else. What is he hiding?

Almost guaranteed that Yoon will grant pardons to former Korean president and convict Lee Myung-bak, Lee of Samsung, and other conservative favorites. According to the constitution and law? Let's see.

Wondering if this media blitz will work? Probably raise his approval ratings to the low 40s?

Articles are also favorably reporting on his administration. For example - S. Korea, Japan FMs agree on need for early resolution of forced labor issue

They didn't even shake hands or bump fists during the photos. They raised elbows, as per Reuters article. How awkward! If it was the Moon administration, there would be a media frenzy about how they didn't even shake hands, how bad relations are, and placing the blame on Moon.

South Korea, Japan foreign ministers meet to tackle historical disputes

Usually, two sides meet and release a statement with results of the meeting. No results. Just the same suggestions as in the past to resolve the problems.

The Moon administration tried to resolve problems with Japan and presented numerous solutions but the Japanese just flatly refused to negotiate. The Reuters article states that the Moon administrations efforts stalled. Let's see if the media reports Yoon administration efforts as stalling when there are no developments next year. Fat chance. LOL. Seems pretty unfair since this happens often, for whatever reason.

Biden Gets Cold Shoulder From US Media

US media, mostly backed by BIG MONEY, are slamming Biden for inflation, saying he isn't doing enough and blaming him for it.

The conservatives agreed to the financial stimulus, so they are also responsible. I think financial stimulus started during Trump, per CNN.

Trump signs historic $2 trillion stimulus after Congress passes it Friday

Then the media, including CNN commentators, states falsely that Biden hasn't cut tariffs on Chinese products. He has told people to start doing it, and they are. But selectively, as per Fortune report.

Biden waives solar panel tariffs, seeks to boost production in the U.S.

Think the US is negotiating with China on the tariffs, but it seems someone is playing hardball.

If Biden unilaterally waived all tariffs on Chinese products, then the media would ask why China didn't do the same and say that Biden waived tariffs without any concessions from China. The media and conservatives would go to town on Biden saying he is weak on China and feebleminded.

Biden's people are probably too busy to defend him from media attacks. Trump has his army of media supporters, where is Biden's? Big money doesn't back Biden, so no media support (owners, advertisers).

Productive people probably too busy to defend Biden on social media. Usually people with too much free time are on social media, IMHO.

Too many American believe things that the media, social media, politicians, rich people, textbooks, and other people without question. Foolish, cognitively dissonant, or what?

In general, most people do not seem to be very informed, or logical.

Maybe, media shouldn't be blamed. Maybe most reporters, journalists, and other related people don't notice certain false and misleading statements in reports and commentary.

When they talk about inflation, usually only one view is stated in a report, usually attributing inflation to one or two things. When someone criticizes others or blames others for problems, question their motives. Remember what Jesus stands for.

Inflation is due to many reasons too long to be contained in a simple report and cannot be blamed on Biden. Most of the blame lies in higher prices for materials and energy, due to conflicts, COVID, sanctions, downsizing, many companies automatically inflating prices because of profit margin and refusing to lower prices when costs for materials and energy go down, money supply, consumer and corporate spending details, and other factors.

Korean retailers and restaurants charging as much as they can until business drops, due to the ridiculously high rents they pay.

Probably the same in New York and other large US cities.

Big Money's greatest fear is inflation. Could halve their wealth in a short time. Panicking. A couple years of 10% inflation...A decade?

A couple of months ago, just before local elections, all the major conglomerates pledged to spend hundreds of billions of dollars and create tons of jobs in the next five years. The conservative party candidates won all the elections for city mayors and province heads.

Now, some conglomerates are saying that their investment plans can change depending on business climate, as predicted in a prior post. I seriously doubt that the conglomerates will keep their pledges, They have used this ploy for almost every election under a conservative party president.

FYI, for billion dollar investments by listed Korean companies, a stock exchange filing is made. For example, Korean shipping firm HMM [KRX:011200] announced plans to spend KRW 15 trillion (USD 11.3 billion) over the next five years.

HMM's future investment plans (in Korean)

Nothing from the conglomerates that pledged hundreds of billions of dollars, yet. Some announcements on acquisitions of other companies, but that doesn't create jobs in Korea.

Will people never learn? The younger Korean generation in their 20s and 30s believe what they see on TV without question, seemingly. Majority of 40s and 50s don't trust media on political issues.

Korean President Yoon's approval rating dropped to 32.5%. No media fuss about the rotten job he is doing, or that it could be a record low for a Korean president.

Yoon's approval rating falls to 32.5%

Korean Prez Approval Rating Dives To 37%

This following article by Yonhap News tries to attribute the drop to problems with the ruling party. Bull.

Yoon's approval rating falls below 40 pct amid turmoil at ruling party

Next article from Korea Times is more objective.

Yoon's approval rating falls below 40% for 1st time: poll

In spite of ALL the extremely FAVORABLE publicity from almost ALL Korean MEDIA, Yoon's approval is dropping. Could go down to around 30%, with support from only hardcore conservatives.

Korean Prez Yoon Seeks Revenge

Yoon marshals audit agencies for no-stone-unturned probes into Moon administration

The former prosecutor is obviously trying to smear political opponents with allegations of crimes, as he has done repeatedly throughout his career.

The previous conservative administrations committed crimes and the public wanted investigations. Yoon led the prosecution to convict former President Park Keun-hye and Lee Myung-bak, not the Moon administration.

Yoon locked up many people for falsifying resumes but not his wife, for some reason. It's okay for her to do that, but others get lock up for years?

Elon Musk and Facebook?

Imagine if Musk said the same things about a potential bid for Facebook as he did for Twitter.

Musk stated "I also want to make Twitter (Facebook) better than ever by enhancing the product with new features, making the algorithms open source to increase trust, defeating the spam bots, and authenticating all humans."

Make Facebook algorithms open source? About a good a chance as making Google's or Youtube's algorithms open source, probably.

US Conservatives Blaming Gun Violence on Mental Health?

Bull. Most gun violence is committed by sane people, as per Washington Post article The staggering scope of U.S. gun deaths goes far beyond mass shootings.

Magic tricks again. Trying to deflect attention from the real problem and gain time before the inevitable.

Countries with really strict gun control laws (South Korea, Japan) have almost no deaths and suicides involving guns.

Very little restrictions on guns = dead people

US conservative politicians obviously value money from lobbyists and freedom to carry guns in public more than lives.

Very simple. If South Korea had gun laws and a gun industry like the US, it would have similar gun violence, assuredly.

In the beginning, there were no laws on guns as they were new. Then as deaths from gun violence mounted, laws restricting use and ownership were enacted. Notice the trend over the past centuries.

Some people are going against the flow. Morally decrepit or cognitively dissonant, maybe?

Korean Media Says Korean President Has No Policies For Country Yet

Yoon Suk-yeol’s liabilities have started to catch up with him

Excerpt from article:

'Historically, the formation of an administration or a presidential transition committee has led to newspaper front pages being plastered with articles about new policies. I can’t remember seeing those sorts of articles when the Yoon administration’s transition committee was at work.'

Other people also notice that Yoon is just pretending to be governing, while doing something else.

Magic trick? Sleight of hand?

Korea President Yoon Discusses Creating Strategic Military Command

Headlines changed from retaliation to creation. Probably found out that Korea does not have operational control of military forces in case of North Korean provocations.

S. Korea to create 'strategic command' to lead 'three-axis' system against N.K. threats

The media said yesterday that Yoon was meeting to ask the military to strongly retaliate against North Korean provocations (something that Korea already does, in consultation with the head of the Combined ROK/US Forces and United Nations Command).

Now they are going to start planning for a 'strategic command'? South Korea has been planning to regain operational control of its own military forces in case of North Korean provocations for years. So, Korea has been planning to create some system or command for this already.

At least, Yoon probably learned something from the meeting. Doesn't he receive briefings or anything? Seems very uninformed and has meetings with no concrete objectives, it seems. As if he is pretending to be governing, it appears. Resembles former President Park's actions.

Yoon also ordered construction resume on nuclear plants in Korea. Probably needed, but there should have been some discussion beforehand. Just to inform the public on the pros and cons.

Pros - less dependence on oil, etc. for electricity.

Cons - Disposal and storage of nuclear waste from previous reactors is unresolved. Less productive than investments in renewable energy. Cancellation of investment plans for renewable energy.

No discussion. Just pushes ahead with whatever seems popular with the conservatives.

Korean President Yoon To Punish North Korea

Yoon orders military to swiftly punish N. Korea in case of provocations, reported Yonhap News.

Bull. The US has operational control in case of North Korean provocations. Thank Goodness!

Maybe, Yoon meant non-military retaliation? Could be.

The Korean president can say things, but the US commander in charge of the ROK/US Combined Forces Command has operational control in such situations. Currently, US General Paul LaCamera is in charge. He is also in charge of the United Nations Command.

Fairly ridiculous for a president to try to impress the public with empty words and promises. A lot of older Koreans should know what I know.

President's Moon and Noh pushed to take back control of Korea's defense despite opposition from the conservative party to which Yoon belongs. As a result of years of careful negotiations, Korea was slated to take back control about now, but this has been delayed for a few more years, maybe another decade.

None of the media points out this fact. What BS! Taking everybody for fools. So many people believe what they read in the news and watch on TV. Not very conscious of what is happening around them. Probably too self-centered to notice.

Watched this happen seemingly every day for several decades, even during dictator Park's time. Media fooling the public and the public doesn't catch on. Unbelievable! Why? Hmmm....

Korea is already on China's blacklist due to former President Park Keun-hye's decision to allow US THAAD defense systems to be installed in Korea. Chinese tourist agencies cannot offer tours to Korea. South Korean conglomerate Lotte Group was, in effect, kicked out of China suffering billions of dollars in losses. And more...

Lotte to pull out of China, focus on Southeast Asia

With Yoon's stance on China and North Korea, trade with China will worsen. Korean cosmetics used to be really popular in China. Not anymore. Former President Moon took a more diplomatic approach and restored relations somewhat.

Only China can control North Korea. If China withdraws its economic support, North Korea would be hard pressed to give up nuclear weapons and stockpile. That is the only thing standing in the way.

Fight against Russia and China, that's good. But everyone knows South Korea and the US are close allies. Why advertise it and rub it in? For politics? Geez.

Why Are US Conservative Leaders Pro-Guns?

Deflects attention from wealthy accruing too much wealth. Less chance attention to wrongdoing by Trump and corporations. Dramatically hinders government of the country. Get more money from lobbyists....get the drift?

Conservatives, in Korea and the US, fight against anything they can to oppose government instead of supporting it or doing something to resolve a problem, seemingly. Just oppose and criticize any attempts to solve problems without offering any solutions.

Similar to doing magic tricks using misdirection. Diverting the public's attention from negative aspects of the wealthy. Just listen and watch. It should be obvious.

Definitely would not trust neighbors or fellow Seoulites with guns. Hell no! Definitely a lot of people would die, if they were allowed to carry guns. Lots of drunk and stressed people. Armed robbery with guns. Assaults and threats with guns.

Criticize the government during former dictator Park's rule in the 60s and 70s and go straight to jail.

Former prosecutors, judges and lawyers seem to run the country now. Having been installed by President Yoon. Talk about cronyism.

Former Presidents Moon and Noh made the noble mistake of appointing officials from within the agency, instead of cronies or loyalists. In Moon's case, he appointed Yoon as head prosecutor without regard to political affiliation. Good guys finish last, in the near term, apparently.

It should be illegal to threaten to kill or severely hurt someone, or say that someone be killed. Same for other aggressive actions. But no, they make other things, like plants, illegal.

Japan to start jailing people for online insults

Monitoring Employees?

Employees who know they are being monitored are more likely to slack off and do other bad things.

Monitored Employees At Work More Likely To Behave Badly

In the study, the employees were informed that they were being monitored. So, don't let them know.

The report states that discussing monitoring and finding consensus with the employees will reduce the risk of employees behaving badly.

Working hard and responsibly, and then all of a sudden, being monitored. Definitely results in cognitive dissonance.

Read that the endocannabinoid system plays an important part in health. Sure is a pity that due to laws prohibiting cannabis, very little research could be done in this field.

Inflation in Korea, in 1980, it cost a nickel to ride the bus. Today, it costs a dollar. Beginning salary at Samsung was less than 300 dollars a month. Now, starting salary is around 4,000 dollars a month.

Learned that light travels a few millimeters in a billionth of a second today. Could have done the calculations.

Korean President Yoon's Background?

Former prosecutor experienced in jailing people for falsifying documents, resumes, university applications, and so on.

His wife is experienced in falsifying resumes, documents, job applications, and so on. Seems to have been protected when her husband was prosecutor. Her mother has been convicted for a crime but it was overturned, if memory is correct. Investigations into other crimes seem to be suspended while Yoon is in office.

Presidential candidate Yoon’s wife's work experience at a gallery claimed as false\

Yoon seeks breakthrough with wife's apology over resume falsification allegations

Korea is going through its own 'Trump' phase.

Germany should legalize weed in a couple of years, it seems. They say it will be the tipping stone for Europe, then the UN, and then the world. Think of all the newly created jobs and economy.

In the 1970s, the 'establishment' used to say that legalization of marijuana would lead to an unproductive society. Seems to lead to jobs and wealth creation. And creativity, pleasant atmosphere, chill people, etc.

Fashion, sports, music, movies, online games, digital payments, credit cards, and such, did ya notice?

Sports, a slightly more metaphysical type of war. Fashion, a metaphysically inspired clothing.

Things could be shifting to a more metaphysical world, not the kind of metaverse as defined by Facebook et al.

When One Is Really Old?

Should be very grateful and happy just to be alive.

Also applies to the young!

Some other thoughts.

What are the only real threats to wealthy people? Government, regulation, taxes and inflation.

Watch and read what the media puts out. And wonder why.

So, there will be constant propaganda on most media, especially economic or financially oriented ones, imparting the impression that smaller government, lower taxes and deregulation, which are good in some aspects and situations, but not in general.

Conservative media propaganda vs poor people's opinions. Wonder how this progresses? Education wins. Why? In general, human intelligence seeks knowledge. Why? Could be something behind it.

Conservatives will scheme to provide privileged education only to certain classes of people? Private schools, cramming schools, tutors, expensive tuitions for top colleges, etc.

If the world applied the same trade laws that China applies to other countries and foreigners to China, would China still be poor? But...

Most developing countries, Korea included, prohibited imports in order to promote local industries. If they didn't, locals would buy higher quality imports, many American, at usually lower prices. Samsung sold TVs in Korea at higher prices than abroad in the 1980s, if anyone remembers the related anti-dumping cases. They could sell TVs at higher prices in Korea due to the very high import taxes imposed on TVs, at the time. The laws were changed to allow average Koreans to travel abroad around that time, after the authoritarian leader of Korea was assassinated by the intelligence agency head, if memories are correct.

We only started playing mostly fair on trade a few decades ago. China seems to feel that it still has a long way to go, and that many parts of the world that do not belong to China, at present, belongs to China.

Russia and China? Like Germany and Japan in World War II. Same territorial aspirations. But if only two are left, who will take over?

Welcome to WW III. Slightly less blood thirsty but a war, nonetheless.

Or some thoughts reverberate through society?

New York Times: Gun sellers stoke fears to boost sales

At least, the problem is starting to be recognized.

Shows On Cable?

Discovery Channel and the like are showing programs about a gun dealer (Gunfather), hunting, and weapons. Seems like gun manufacturers and the NRA paid to produce those programs. They apparently do not know that Asian countries have very strict laws on weapon ownership.

Some less developed countries have lax laws or lawless regions, but they normally buy really cheap locally made weapons. In some regions, lots of people are armed. Usually no mass murders (excluding suicide bombers), just family feuds and such. Where? Areas in Pakistan, Afghanistan, etc. Might have changed since I visited.

A sports channel is showing reruns of PSG football. Probably free footage from PSG.

And most other channels are full of shows promoting cooking, eating out, and other food shows.

Full of programs paid for by companies trying to promote their products or consumer spending.

Avoid Korean news due to biased reporting.

All media seems to want is to control human behavior.

Only left with CNN, other American news channels and sports channels.

Almost all Koreans watch Tottenham Hotspur's Son Heung-min.

Financial news is pretty safe. I know what financial news is BS and what is relevant.

Rooting for stocks to fall even more. Closed out my positions last week.

The US borrowed billions of dollars during the coronavirus pandemic and incurs a huge trade deficit every year. With every increase in the prime rate, the dollar becomes stronger, which makes it cheaper to repay the debt with inflated dollars and makes imports relatively cheaper due to a stronger dollar.

A lot of stores and companies are raising prices by 20% or more on old stock, which shouldn't have been affected by the recent rise in prices. Imagine many more will follow suit.

Proof That Life Is An Entity, Or Some Thing?

To fight diseases, the body sends antibodies, which can either be destructive or constructive depending on perspective and other things.

Intelligence, which seems to be related to truth, should survive? In theory, or by coincidence?

Deadly things like cigarette smoking and alcohol consumption could be like antibodies against dissonance? Used to drink and smoke cigarettes, but had a more self-centered and self-indulgent consciousness then.

Most effective antibody against cognitive dissonance is confused thinking, from the perspective of a collective consciousness.

Very intelligent conservative and powerful people are taking advantage of cognitively dissonant people by spreading false news and sleights of words to impart negative feelings toward something or someone, usually someone, and winning elections. Why is that? Is it ethical?

Like early TV programs in the US, all those black and white TV programs were about the 'ideal' family or 'ideal' life as interpreted by a few broadcasters and advertisers. Brainwashing people then and still today.

Saw some old acquaintances at a reunion, most are drinkers. Alcohol is definitely bad for brain cells and clear thinking, from personal observation over the decades. Does it seem that a majority of conservatives drink alcohol?

Are drunk presidents as bad as or more dangerous than drunk drivers?

Used to regret getting angry at the cognitively dissonant (extremely aggressive, bullying, etc.), but a good overall perspective might be needed. It is good to regret getting angry at cognitively consonant people.

Sort of impossible not to explode at some things that happen. Might as well drive the perpetrator even more crazy, for a while...

No bad or good people? Just happy and miserable people?

World Makes Sense?

The world makes sense when viewed from a certain perspective.

Or is it, the world makes sense when thoughts are based on true assumptions?

Life is part of the consciousness that is waking up and exploring the universe?

Then, when the body dies, the personality, memories and stuff are gone. But the consciousness, or collective consciousness, is still here in life and has evolved that much further. So, the personal part is gone, but the essence is still there?

Somehow very comforting thought?

People over the ages had similar thoughts? Gaia, comes to mind.

Look into the consciousness? What a trip... The darkness can be death defying and very thrilling.

Trump's legacy to leaders of nations? Lie like there's no tomorrow or God and get away with it. A majority, it seems, is following his lead. Imagine what kind of thoughts they have all day. Crazy world.

CNN Article Distorting Public Opinion On Former Korean President Moon?

An article on CNN - South Korean and US fighter jets in show of force to Kim Jong Un amid fears over North Korean nuclear test - states "Yoon has consistently emphasized his desire to strengthen the South's military -- a departure from predecessor Moon Jae-in, who had promoted dialogue and peaceful reconciliation."

The article implies that Moon had no desire to strengthen Korea's military, which is ridiculous.

Conservative Korean media relies on this type of subliminal messaging, but an article in CNN? Unintended?

Remember other CNN articles on Korea with issues.

If this latest apparent mistake in editing is corrected, this post will be deleted.

Wanted to complain directly to CNN or the writers, but couldn't.

Writing was helpful in business. Maintained extensive 'to do lists' and such. Too long to do just from memory.

Writing helps to organize, remember, and refine thoughts. Also enables recognition of the physical self and metaphysical self. hehe

Meet Your Maker?

Are Thoughts Reflected In The Physical and Metaphysical Universe?

Perfectly worded questions that seem to resonate just keep popping up?

Organisms programmed to survive usually just chill or play when faced with free time. Humans drew, spoke, and wrote. Seem to be programmed to find out why, for some reason.

Are we exploring the universe as the eyes, ears, and brains for some thing? Slaves to knowledge or some metaphysical energy trying to explore and find out what it is?

Hmmm... Life is the result of some thing trying to explore and find out where it is, what it is, etc.? Seems true.

That would explain why no other species evolved to do calculus. No need.

Would also explain why humans developed intellectually so quickly. Explains many things?

So, we are like fingernails on a bigger thing? Likely. Too gloomy. We are part of the knowledge that is accumulated? Better.

Even better. Life is part of the consciousness waking up and exploring the universe?

Just imagining?

Another mystery revealed - How psychedelic drugs work in the brain.

A study states that psilocybin seems to reduce activity in the medial prefrontal cortex, an area of the brain that helps regulate a number of cognitive functions, including attention, inhibitory control, habits and memory. It could reduce focus on the self and related constraints, thereby impart an "open mind" on the individual.

BBC: How psychedelic drugs might treat depression

Use overtones when talking about resonate? Okay.

Stars Are More Massive, The Further Away

According to a study in Science Daily: New discovery about distant galaxies: Stars are more massive than we thought

"... stars in distant galaxies are typically more massive than those in our local neighborhoods, and that the farther away the researchers look, the more massive the average stars become.", the study stated.

Maybe, dark matter might not be needed to explain 'missing mass' of spinning far off galaxies and stuff?

Still need something to explain dark energy. Wonder if black holes turn mass into space? The two great unknowns might have a connection. If mass can be turned into energy in stars, maybe mass turns into space inside a black hole? Who knows? Space is related to time, energy and mass, so seems likely. Maybe even space-time.

In deep learning, AI software is designed to work like a human brain for certain functions. For example, placing importance or weight on current information over outdated information.

In a decade or so, there should be enough AI software to mimic most basic functions of the human brain? Eventually, probably mimic a human. Could it be then that the The Question is answered?

Resonance And Dissonance

Resonance and dissonance are relative and depends on the reference frequency or key.

So, the key for metaphysical, or maybe thought, resonance is truth? Logically.

Or, is it constructive knowledge can be built on truth and true assumptions? Seems to be both.

Resonance tends to linger longer than dissonance?

Strange society, if one thinks about it. Full of contradictions. Some people kill each other for fun in online games. Should be more advanced than that.

Wonder if mass shooters played FPS games.

Heroic rescuers, kidney donors, and other highly empathetic people have larger amygdalas than normal, per CNN report on heroes. The amygdala is related to generating the experience of fear and empathizing with other people's fear, the report said.

Fear is a mostly physically-based emotion? Can cause dissonance?

Lived in Manoa Valley, for a time. Language can be confusing. Interchangeably use so many words...

Overcoming Social Addiction?

Could too many people be too dependent on their society and status quo?

If you are not a part of society, apparently there is something wrong according to society. Anti-social is a dirty word. But everyone is anti-present society, right?

Most people don't agree with many aspects of society but due to education and peers...are caught in loop, it seems?

Avoiding social contact as much as possible works wonders but is hard to do, at first? Love, friendships, excitement, etc., are like addictions and hard to stop, even for a while? But one needs to take a break for proper perspective.

They say friendships are good for health and longevity. True in many cases, but depends on friend and person.

Being mostly alone is hard to do but recommended to older people for a change. Seems to free time to get acquainted with the 'void'.

Younger people might need friends and a sense of belonging. Older people have already had the experience and need to try something else or new?

Talk about metaphysics and crowds will become sleepy and thoughts clouded. Discourse on metaphysics in the future could seem like speaking in tongues.

Are many too dependent on talking to pass time? Is talking too much an addiction? For some? For one? Used to be. For all? At times?

Also, does too much speaking lead to cognitive dissonance? Sometimes, the mouth seems to run off with the thoughts. The conscious loses control of thoughts and something false is spoken.

Definitely messes up thinking. If sufficient time is taken to recognize and realize the falseness of the thought, then the dissonance is resolved? If not, problem gets compounded and seemingly infinitely complex?

Were humans meant to evolve from being centered on survival to being centered on exploring the universe? Or is something driving humans to do so? Or were our brain genetics or epigenetics changed by radiation, chemicals, peyote, or something? Could be all of the above.

Society and media places a lot of importance on friendship and getting together to have fun.

Since I can remember, media has touted 3 meals a day, family and friends are good for health and longevity, and other themes. Why not bombard people with stories about eating 3 meals a day is too many calories and unhealthy? Or negative friends and family can ruin health?

Shouldn't scientific studies have moved on from family and friends are good for health to more detailed studies? Same thing for over 50 years. People are like sheep, but come on.

Noradrenaline Strengthens Certain Memories

Noradrenaline is secreted in the brain when a surprising event happens - fear, joy, etc.

Science Daily: Study examines why the memory of fear is seared into our brains

Science Daily: How the brain responds to surprising events

All these chemicals affect the brain and consciousness, but have not yet been proven to be the cause of consciousness?

Could consciousness be like a software program for an organism's identity? The current status of the being. Evolved to survive, but with too much leisure time....?

Time will tell. Chimps in zoos have time, so do pet dogs, but...

Information on brain functions appears to be growing exponentially. Very little was known until recently.

THC consumption appears to lower background noise in the mind, so thoughts can vibrate with less interference? (Personal supposition)

But what background noise? Dissonance. Oh, I see now. Thanks.

Hear and 'feel' music more clearly? Taste more clearly? Think more clearly, for those who are able to think without dissonance?

With legalization, another age of metaphysics, or philosophy, will come sightly sooner?

I used to think my thoughts led me here, but long ago, I came to the thought that 'something' led me here. Why would anyone think these thoughts, and for so long?

Metaphysical Black Hole Or Dimension?

Knowledge in books and stored form is just symbols until it is processed and retained by a 'brain' or 'consciousness'.

Information has a metaphysical dimension and this dimension can be accessed by thought?

Or is it that information exists in a metaphysical dimension and this dimension can be accessed by thought? Or both? hehe.

So, when books are destroyed, only the physical dimension is destroyed. The metaphysical dimension (metaphysical concept, aspect) remains. So, just the physical information, not knowledge is lost, when a book is destroyed.

Good imagination? Or do thoughts resonate until they meet something that reflects the thoughts back to us and the mind coverts that something into consciousness, like some kind of radar?

Or do thoughts resonate until they meet something that is in the same key, or in tune with the thoughts and a 'node' (standing wave or resonance) is formed and the resonance then floats into consciousness?

Or do thoughts just interact with retained information in the mind until something resonates?

Could be all of the above, some thoughts to do this, some do that. LOL

Or when viewed from different perspectives?

Theory of Relativity was thought up by Einstein to resolve contradictions in physics.

Could do the same with metaphysics? A much more precise way of communication needs to be developed first. Extensive writing could be the ticket.

Scientific American: How the Brain ‘Constructs’ the Outside World

Summarized. There seems to be a process in the mind that reviews what is in the conscious, subconscious, stored information, and makes decisions about what to do and think.

Species Likely To Evolve Intellectually?

Species that educate their offspring and themselves. Many do?

Species that use language and math? Many do.

Closest would be chimps and apes that are able to use sign language? Teach them to teach themselves and wait a million years? Or is there something else?

Infringing On Right Not To Own A Gun

To borrow the language of gun rights advocates...

All these people with guns are taking away my freedom to protect myself without a gun. LOL

Take all the guns away from these people.

Sounds like freedom to own a gun is based on false assumptions?

Human beings have very limited freedom, even in nature? In a society, there is even less freedom?

People should have freedoms, yes, but they do not actually have them?

Freedom of speech - restricted by social norms. Freedom to have a job - restricted by education and other factors. Freedom to move - restricted by money, access to transportation, other people.

Some metaphysical concepts just seem right true, even at first thought.

Truth resonates.

Knowledge is retained information and true assumptions.

Useful or constructive knowledge is primarily based on truth and true assumptions.

False truths and assumptions close the path to further useful or constructive knowledge in that realm.

Metaphysically 'feels' correct  right true.

Wonder if there is a universe where things feel left? Joke?

Negative people are not really negative but are non-constructive and in large part cognitively dissonant?

Dissonant people? People who might function in the physical universe but are mainly out of tune with the metaphysical universe where truth resonates?

Thought in the metaphysical universe is similar to light in the physical universe? Common sense?

One has to think to see or explore the metaphysical universe but conceptualizing concepts in darkness is built on truth resonating in some dimension or dimensions? hehe. So, most are blind in here. A vast unseen and virtually unexplored frontier, where money is no object yet useless?

Truth vs facts? Metaphysical vs physical?

Been living on borrowed time since the early 1970s, 2000s, etc. So, probably thought about and prepared for death too much. Although, too much is good in that it desensitizes, in this case.

Some thoughts seem to linger or resonate subconsciously until a 'node' is generated.

Remote Working?

Probably quit if work required commuting to an office.

Working with negative people is hard because one is supposed to be polite and try to educate really negative people. It is much easier to be nice to such people by email. Sudden negative statements or actions appear to be more upsetting in direct person-to-person interaction.

After reading a negative statement from someone, one has time to adjust and attempt to remain serene.

In person, negative statements/actions can build up to where one is highly stressed.

Also, can save a couple hours by not commuting through traffic or crowds. Cars always appear to suddenly cut you off. People often brazenly cut in line. War zone. Certainly stressful and most likely influences how people act.

Compare that to leisurely watching TV and riding a spin bike, or just listening to music with tea and milk before work.

Productivity? Highly productive with clean copies.

Prefer online video meetings to physical meetings, also.

Scared to work with young people, these days. For some unknown reason, I must avoid setting a bad example. Could have a negative effect on their life, when one knows better. Say a few kind words, thank you, things to ease stress and encourage life.

Imagine if I had to work with a room full of young people? Ulcers? Depends on the young people, I guess. But there always seem to be some bad apples as a test of patience?

World would probably be better if less people commuted to work. Less stress, less pollution, less waste of energy and space. Less net expenditure of human effort.

Some people can do a lot of work from home, some can't.

Feelings?

Can feelings be classified into two groups - primarily physically-based feelings and primarily metaphysically-based ones?

Feelings such as hot, cold, hungry, love, hate, and anger seem to start from physiological processes (nerves, hormones), while feelings such as like or dislike of humor seem to be mainly based on metaphysical processes.

Hmm...

Diligent, hardworking and honest people need to beware. Others who aren't do not like such people.

Read somewhere that people resent those who are better.

Example? Kids with bad grades dun like ones with good grades, sometimes.

That kind of resentment could arise from survival instinct, so it might be due to physiological processes

On the surface, it seems only some resent others, but unconsciously, it could be another story...

Feelings could be due to chemicals and electric impulses around and in nerves. Why the chemicals and electric signals create thoughts and feelings is not known.

Okay, physiological process-based feelings and metaphysical feelings.

With metaphysical feelings, there is no foundation, so to speak. So, these feelings are based on nodes of knowledge? So, if cognitively dissonant, then no nodes, which is equal to feelings and thoughts not based on knowledge?

Knowledge is normally based on true facts or assumptions Common sense.

So, if one believes in untrue or false assumptions, further knowledge in that area is improbable? Gotcha!

Most people are somewhat cognitively dissonant, while some appear lost?

Plausible.

Feelings? Are feelings thoughts? Thinking that one feels something, or the external influence makes one think that way? For hot and cold...

Hormone-based thoughts and metaphysically-based thoughts? Instinctive thoughts and higher dimensional/complex thoughts?

Some common nodes of knowledge exist in everyone's minds. Do these nodes exist in an unseen  dimension or are minds connected by some quantum entanglement-type phenomena? Maybe both?

Both. Could also be thought of as an unseen dimension of knowledge? Can easily get lost in here.

No wonder most people avoid thinking, these thoughts.

Job?

Or pastime?

Writing reports on stock exchange filings and financial news is helpful when investing.

Writing seemed to be a chore in past jobs. After retiring, writing became a pastime, then a job again. But now it is easy and sometimes a joy. Maybe enjoyable due to pay? Probably true. Could be due to different perspectives?

When writing in jobs, shortcuts or compromises or taken due to lack of time. When writing as a pastime, there is more freedom to explore thoughts and knowledge.

Thoughts move, while knowledge grows and appears to lurk in darkness?

Information energy? Can be transmitted, weakened, strengthened, destroyed, created. True information seems to resonate to form nodes of knowledge (constructive thoughts/information)?

Gun manufacturers, dealers, some lawyers, some lobbyists, gun magazines, ammunition makers, some advertising companies, some politicians and some owners appear to dislike government and regulations. Less government and regulations will further the distance to restrictive gun laws.

Guns are their ticket to the rich life. Over a hundred million guns in the US and probably a similar amount exported (many to criminal organizations). Seems like money rules (in) all nations.

Do it the Korean way? Everyone who passes requirements is allowed own a gun, but the guns must be stored at the police station and checked out for use. LOL. A relic of dictator Park.

Attempts to change the law have been NON-EXISTENT. Why? Very few people make money from guns in Korea.

Although lots of Koreans own guns for hunting and sport, none are acquaintances.

Corporations Required To Announce Large Investments

Listed corporations are required by law to announce plans for significant investments, such as large acquisitions.

None of the listed corporations of the Korean conglomerates that pledged to invest vast amounts in the next years have filed such plans to date.

Wonder if they will file? Should be soon, if they really plan to spend money this year or even the first half of next year.

(CORRECTED - the pledges include past amounts that were pledged, I read. So, some of the investments have already been announced. It depends on the economy. If the economy is good, they will likely keep a majority of their pledges, if the economy is not so good, then no way).

Get paid to know these things. Is it a miracle? In many ways.

Think Korean conglomerates are cheering for a conservative win in the local elections next week because of comprehensive property taxes. The family owners, executives, corporations, acolytes, and relatives, own most of the real estate in Korea.

The conservatives want to lower or eliminate comprehensive property taxes, but the progressive/liberal party holds a majority in the parliament, so the law is unlikely to be changed.

Almost all media only publish blatantly pro-Yoon, pro-conservative party articles ALL the time and call the opposition criminals and such. Yet, the conservatives are losing in many districts, over 50%. Hope the recent historical trend is maintained. hehe.

The progressive party holds over 50% of the seats in the parliament. Faint light of hope!

Real insights into Korean society, not BS from conservative media.

Absentee voting starts today.

Understanding Requires Common Ground

Or some mutual telepathic connection?

That's a very pertinent question.

All life appears to have some metaphysical connection, do you think?

If 'do you think' is effective subliminal messaging, imagine the consequences of  'don't you think'?

A world populated by a lot of people who don't think, sounds familiar.

Why do these questions keep springing to the consciousness, aside from interest?

Could be the process of knowledge being created/discovered in my thoughts through cognitive consonance, or resonating good/positive thoughts...

Drug Addict?

Sounds worse than drug abuser and much worse than drug dependent, or the truest nickname drug liker?

Sounds like the term was deliberately meant to denigrate and alienate drug users?

Should terms that incite hatred against some people be banned? Ban people who use such terms? From the metaphysical universe, hehe.

Ever hear 'alcohol addict'? No, but addicted to alcohol, yes.

Guess 'addict' could be used without malice, such as 'football addict'.

There's so much money flowing in stocks. Dollar is now strong against the Korean Won and some stocks are undervalued, so foreign investors are buying again in some sectors. Foreign investors mostly sold in the past year or so, if memory is correct.

I am a 15% addict. Need 15% or more annual return on investment.

Our Metaphysical Universe?

The other side of our universe with metaphysical properties, metaphysical dimensions, reverse entropy, metaphysical energy, metaphysical feelings, metaphysical black holes and more? Where truth resonates?

Mostly my metaphysical universe for now, until others see more of it. Could get crowded. Where to go?

Always wanted things in the past and get most of them? Try not to want anything special and see where it leads?

Korean Conglomerates To Invest Hundreds of Billions?

They have pledged to invest and create jobs at the start of every past conservative President's term and failed to do so.

Suspiciously happens just before local elections on June 1.

Whoa! Even conservative Korean publications are complaining that Korean conglomerates always pledge to invest at the start of a president's administration but fail to do so.

Invest Chosun - 재계 '역대급 투자' 보따리…정권 교체때마다 봐야 하는 불편함

Did you know Samsung used to give expensive gifts and presents to prosecutors and judges, in some cases tried to give? Not to mention company executives being convicted for wanton destruction of evidence.

Reuters: Samsung trial tests South Korea's rule of law

Betcha President Yoon grants Lee a pardon and erases his convictions. 50:50 odds.

In Samsung's defense, please note that it seems to be a South Korean conglomerate 'thing' based on past history. They haven't changed in the past, why expect change in the future?

Shouldn't be so negative? Be more objective?

Another metaphysical feeling. Can truth be felt in music? Think so, from my perspective.

Spoken Truth?

Does truth resonate in spoken statements or claims?

Or is truth of the spoken statements/claims resonating in my thoughts?

Could be both, as always.

All Want Raised Taxes?

BBC: Millionaires at Davos say 'tax us more'

Millionaires for Humanity, a growing network of millionaires clamoring for more tax.

Slightly more optimistic?

Metaphysical Black Hole?

When a theory or useful fact that is written or otherwise recorded is destroyed (water on ink, fire, etc.), where does that 'energy' and 'knowledge' go?

If things appear and disappear without a trace, that's magic, right? What about zero point energy?

Okay, maybe not magic.

When we die, our experiences and stuff, where do they go? It's different from fluctuating quantum lowest energy state. It's like a really high energy state.

The 'energy' might be converted or transformed into another original form for storage, possibly recycling? That thought could be influenced by Buddhism. Still is very intriguing.

Just had a thought.

Can make knowledge with resonances of thoughts, but not with cognitive dissonance?

That sounds vaguely similar to 'tune in, drop out', good vibes and the like?

Another one.

What if the phrase 'I don't think' was banned? Pretty sure it leads to people not thinking beyond survival and competition mode. Could be self-hypnosis, subliminal messaging or whatnot. hehe

Did you know some languages use 'I don't think' a lot more than other languages and it appears to be negatively manifested in that country's culture? Really. What languages? Have an entire nation hate me? No way.

Why is it that fundamental physical interactions can be described and predicted by mathematical formulas? There is a metaphysical structure, or metaphysical property to physical objects and interactions, maybe?

Knowledge is a type of metaphysical energy gained from observing physical interactions and learning through physical interactions? That needs to be divided down. Too complex.

Prime Numbers Are Unique

Do they have other metaphysical properties as well?

Metaphysical entropy, metaphysical energy (knowledge, etc.), metaphysical black hole, metaphysical universe or world?

Can a metaphysical universe affect the physical universe in ways other than spoken or written words, music and other thought initiated physical actions? Resulting in life and order?

Maybe even affect space or gravity ever so slightly (dark matter or dark energy)?

Can a metaphysical dimension affect the physical universe? Similar question as before.

Take Out Religion And God, Still Something There

It seems.

Constructive overcomes destructive -- matter versus anti-matter, order versus disorder, true thoughts versus false thoughts, positive thoughts versus negative thoughts, and so on.

Can make music with resonances of frequencies, but not with dissonance.

Can make knowledge with resonances of thoughts, but not with cognitive dissonance?

Can think positively/constructively with resonances of thoughts, but not with cognitive dissonance?

Images can be created in minds from resonances of frequencies?

If thoughts can interact with the physical world and be stored in books and stuff, they exist in some form of energy, or dimension, in our heads. So this energy is stored in books and digital form and/or transmitted to others. Biological energy used versus energy of knowledge created?

Seems energy is created for a while and stored physically and in people's minds.

All physical things created will be destroyed in the end, theories say. So, even if thoughts are stored in physical form...

So, when this thought energy is destroyed in physical form, does it disappear? Energy is not supposed to disappear but is conserved, theories state. Does it go back to another dimension or form? Is it a metaphysical black hole, perhaps?

At what point, or stage, does logical/constructive thinking overcome just living and sacred of dying thinking?

Is this due to a force, energy, dimension, or even maybe natural law? For thought/knowledge, it needs to be a metaphysical dimension or a natural law for a metaphysical dimension?
