Could too many people be too dependent on their society and status quo?
If you are not a part of society, apparently there is something wrong according to society. Anti-social is a dirty word. But everyone is anti-present society, right?
Most people don't agree with many aspects of society but due to education and peers...are caught in loop, it seems?
Avoiding social contact as much as possible works wonders but is hard to do, at first? Love, friendships, excitement, etc., are like addictions and hard to stop, even for a while? But one needs to take a break for proper perspective.
They say friendships are good for health and longevity. True in many cases, but depends on friend and person.
Being mostly alone is hard to do but recommended to older people for a change. Seems to free time to get acquainted with the 'void'.
Younger people might need friends and a sense of belonging. Older people have already had the experience and need to try something else or new?
Talk about metaphysics and crowds will become sleepy and thoughts clouded. Discourse on metaphysics in the future could seem like speaking in tongues.
Are many too dependent on talking to pass time? Is talking too much an addiction? For some? For one? Used to be. For all? At times?
Also, does too much speaking lead to cognitive dissonance? Sometimes, the mouth seems to run off with the thoughts. The conscious loses control of thoughts and something false is spoken.
Definitely messes up thinking. If sufficient time is taken to recognize and realize the falseness of the thought, then the dissonance is resolved? If not, problem gets compounded and seemingly infinitely complex?
Were humans meant to evolve from being centered on survival to being centered on exploring the universe? Or is something driving humans to do so? Or were our brain genetics or epigenetics changed by radiation, chemicals, peyote, or something? Could be all of the above.
Society and media places a lot of importance on friendship and getting together to have fun.
Since I can remember, media has touted 3 meals a day, family and friends are good for health and longevity, and other themes. Why not bombard people with stories about eating 3 meals a day is too many calories and unhealthy? Or negative friends and family can ruin health?
Shouldn't scientific studies have moved on from family and friends are good for health to more detailed studies? Same thing for over 50 years. People are like sheep, but come on.
