Leading Opposition Candidate for Presidential Elections in Korea?

Yoon Seok-yul, a former prosecutor who was suspended for wrongdoing. The person appealed and the court found that the suspension (two months, if I remember correctly) was too lax for the crimes.

He was suspended for failure to maintain political neutrality as the top prosecutor, ordering others to draw up documents containing judges’ personal information with the intent to conduct unauthorized surveillance, and obstructing an investigation into a case related to local cable television network Channel A, which was embroiled in a collusion scandal involving the prosecution.

He is the conservative party's leading contender in their runoff to select a candidate.

The ruling progressive party candidate? Another civil rights lawyer who became a mayor, then governor of a province. Former President Roh Moo-hyun and current President Moon Jae-in are also former civil rights lawyers.

Imagine the majority of news channels being like Fox. That's the situation in Korea. They also flood the comments sections on websites with @!#$#!@.

Right now, the conservatives are ahead in the polls. Election will be close, like the US, I think. Why is life always on the edge?

In an "advanced" society, should websites and media amplify outright lies being stated by cognitively dissonant people?
