When you are born, do you believe in God and then lose your belief? Or do you have to find where your belief in God is from the start? It doesn't matter in most cases, you still have to find where your belief in God is.
So, anyway you have to act like you believe in some form of God. Live something like Jesus for some time. This means you have to try to do good in everything you do and think. And then you will know that there is a God.
I know it's hard to swallow. I am just a commoner with very very little wealth and of low standing in the material community. But I am compelled to do good because I know I have a place in my form of Heaven. But, in my defense, I would like to state that I have visited the neighborhood of pure thoughts quite often recently and hope to continue my visits provided I remember to do so.
Good Bless on your journey to where you may have left your faith. A journey of doing good. May your journey be short or long depending on your perspective. As with everything, it will turn out to be something in the middle in terms of the length of time. Always a balance, nothing is simple and nothing is completely comprehendible.
